About Us

We are pleased to welcome you to Stanwix Community Pre-School

We hope you find this website useful and helps you get to know us and how we work.

Stanwix Community Pre-school is an inclusive pre-school with a small, dedicated team of staff who create a warm, caring, and safe environment where learning is exciting and fun. The staff create a place where children’s individual needs are supported, allowing them to grow in confidence and independence and to develop skills in everyday activities through play-based learning.

Aims

  • To create an open and welcoming Pre-School by providing high quality teaching and learning.
  • To create an environment where we nurture children’s emotional well-being, confidence, and independence.
  • Providing resources and activities where children can explore their curiosity and develop their full learning potential.
  • By supporting diversity and welcoming all children, recognising that each child’s learning is individual and unique to them, celebrating their successes and achievements.
  • To build strong, positive relationships with parents and children with our family orientated, home from home setting.
  • To ensure children leave pre-school with the confidence, independence, and skills to move on to the next stage of their development in primary school and beyond.

We offer a wide range of activities to develop new skills at your child’s own pace. We are a registered charity which is run by a management committee made up of parents whose children attend the Pre-school.

We welcome children from all over Carlisle and the surrounding areas. We do not have a specific catchment area. We currently have a waiting list for September 2023 and 2024. Please contact us or you can download, complete, and return the registration form to us, if you wish to add your child's name to our list.

As well as the pre-school staff, we often have students and or apprentices doing a range of child care courses, who come to help us and learn about child care practices.
